but now is manifested, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, is made known unto all the nations unto obedience of faith:

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(26) But now is made manifest.--The first clause of this verse goes with the last clause of the preceding "mystery," which before was kept secret, but now has been "made manifest."
