Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(35) The violence done to me and to my flesh . . .--The imagery of the "dragon" or "crocodile" is continued. The "inhabitress of Zion" pleads that her "flesh" and "blood" have been devoured by the Babylonian conqueror, and asks for the application of the law of retribution.
