Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(6) Daughters which are in the field.--Comp. Ezekiel 26:8. A poetic way of describing the dependencies of Tyre upon the mainland.In Ezekiel 26:7-11 the particular and now impending conquest by Nebuchadnezzar is graphically described, and then, with the change to the plural in Ezekiel 26:12, there seems to be again a looking forward to the long vista of successive devastations.
