Ellicott's Commentary

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(10) And the Lord spake to Manasseh.--"By the hand of his servants the prophets." See2Kings 21:10-15, where the substance of the prophetic message is given; and it is added (2Chronicles 33:16) that Manasseh also shed very much innocent blood, "till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to the other." The reaction against the reforms of Hezekiah ended in a bloody struggle, in which the party of reform was fiercely suppressed.
